If you're one of those people who get easily bored with the repetitive actions of cardio exercise, this might be a problem for you to have a good cardio workout. Not many people realize this but they can actually go on a cardio workout for longer periods of time only if you are able to get past that sense of “boredom” whenever you do some cardio.

So how do we overcome this sense of boredom? First of all, we need to determine what makes this exercise boring. Is it because you're using some kind of cardio machine that's stationary or something that doesn't allow you the privilege of changing your view? 1. Bring an iPod whenever you do some cardio.

One way to fight boredom is to have some entertainment along with you. Having an iPod with you when you go to the gym will definitely seem like a good idea. Why? It's because you don't need to scan through TV channels or listen to your gym's seemingly repeating “high energy” playlist.

With iPods, music is more personalized to your preferences. For one thing, you choose the songs you wish to put in your iPod and you make your own playlist. You can have a playlist for hyping up, maintaining a certain level of energy and cooling down. What better level of entertainment than the iPod can you bring to the gym, right? iPods are definitely a godsend, especially when you barely have the time to have a leisurely conversation.

2. When exercising in the gym, think about bringing along a gym buddy.

Gym buddies or friends you work out with are actually more beneficial than you think. Think of them as your training partners. And with cardio, it's important to have someone that can spot you and keep you motivated. Whether you're beside him in another treadmill or pacing him on a road run, the same thing holds true – a friend can always keep you motivated.

Sometimes, that strain you're feeling is all in your head. Your mind gives in a lot quicker than your body does especially when you have lots of doubts on what you're capable of doing. Give it a shot and try it out. Maybe you'll immediately feel the difference of having a training partner and not having one. It's kind of like having someone to spot you when you're doing weights that you know you might not be able to lift during your last few repetitions.

3. Overcome that mountain you have built up in your head.

Sometimes, the hardest thing that we have to do is overcoming something that we thought we couldn't achieve all by ourselves. And quire often, it also reaps the most benefits. Why? It's because you don't need anybody else to push yourself farther but yourself. Not everybody can do this but if you're one of them the sooner you realize that you have an Ace in the hole, the stronger you're going to get.
