Exercise For Good Health And Good Life

In a world where everything is made to be more convenient, it seems like it's requiring us less effort to do our everyday duties and rituals. Telephones nowadays are cordless; televisions as well have remote controls. Heck, they even have remotes that can control everything from the lightings, to the music, TVs, nearly everything that you can control via remote control.

Even ordering at fast food restaurants now takes a quick drive through or a door-to-door delivery. In exchange for the easier lives we lead, we have traded away our only form of exercise (well to some people that is). This has led people to becoming overweight and even obese. This happens when you eat way more than your body needs. This dreadful condition can be reversed in many ways but the best by far is definitely a good balance of your diet and exercise. Here are a few reasons as to why exercise should be an important part in your daily routine.

1. Increase your metabolic rate.

Your metabolism is what gives your body energy. The food that you take in gets broken down into energy that is used to power your body. Our bodies are just like cars wherein it needs its regular fix of gasoline and it needs to be tuned every now and then so that it would run nice and smooth without any problems whatsoever. Exercise is our body's way of “tuning” itself up so that it'd be ready for any condition that would require a lot of physical movement.

Regular exercise can increase our metabolic rate, our cardiovascular endurance and muscle strength. Now since what we're getting at here is our body's metabolic rate, it's important to know that this is the rate as to which how fast our body can break down different kinds of food. Regular exercise can increase our metabolic rates by as much as 20% and that could spell the difference between a flabby tummy or a nicely toned set of abs.

2. Improve your quality of life, you can even start today.

People who don't like to exert physical effort usually tend to stay at home glued to their computers or game consoles like the PS3, the XBOX 360 or the Nintendo Wii. Other people as well are stuck on their couches with their eyes glued to their TV sets. Seriously, can you spend your whole day being that way?

There are a lot of things that you can do in one day. Being more productive means that you can do more in the same amount of time allotted for you. In a day, there are 24 hours. Eight of those are usually spent for sleeping. That means that we have 16 more hours at our disposal. Things like having a job may keep us busy but that only accounts for about 8 more hours in a day. That leaves us with another 8 hours that we have as “free” time. A daily exercise routine can take as short as thirty minutes even. A mere thirty minutes of your time everyday can work wonders for your health and your body.
